Reviews
I LOVED this place! The udon was amazing, I added shrimp tempura to it. $8 for two pieces of shrimp tempura kind of sucked though. But other than that the service and atmosphere was great and I definitely wanna bring my friends here next time
Food was okay, Udon wasn’t my favorite at all but the rolls were very good. The waitress though never said a single word to us. We had to call her over for our order, she didn’t offer us water, she didn’t ask if we wanted any soy cause for our sushi either. Half way through eating my food this man walked up and was taking my plate thinking i was done eating, although I clearly was still working on it. We had stayed 20 minutes at most.
My ladyfriends and I went to Udon Lab out of curiosity. We already have a taste for Korean cuisine, but we did not expect the style of service as we entered. From the hostess to the waiters, they all dressed professionally in a high-class setting. The waiters were exceptionally kind and well-mannered, often inviting people with class in their own respect. We had to take pictures of the sushi and the large bowls of healthy, cultural meals. The tender meats were well-prepared and spiced to perfection. My sibling and I are into Asian culture, as inspired from both anime and our heritage. My friend loved the classy service and would not mind going again. My ladyfriends also commented on the professionalism of the staff. They should be well-commended for their hospitality. I would come back for their warm environment and quality of empathy. We went for a second time upon request of my ladyfriend from another part of town and got the delicious food we ordered. It was a fantastic atmosphere and loved the service as well.
As soon as you walk in, you get all the amazing aromas of everyone's dishes and it immediately makes you hungrier than before you walked in. I had the bacon kimchi udon and OMG I wanted more even though I was stuffed to the brim. The presentation was delightful and the customer service was top notch! Will definitely be back next time im in NYC.
Perfect meal for a cold winter day. The udon is delicious!! Gave the service 4 stars because it did take a bit long to get a server to take our order. But everything was wonderful afterwards.
Curry katsu udon: the curry provides more of a creamy broth and the katsudon is good and crispy. However it does become soggy really fast given the fact that it's in a broth.
Beef dip udon: the broth was super flavorful and rich, the meat was not chewy and yhe udon was cooked properly. Despite the fact that it's a dip udon, I got tired of it quickly and just poured the broth directly in my udon bowl. Much easier to eat.
Takoyaki: milder smaller than what i'm used to, but it made the small piece of octopus the right size, which means perfect dough to octopus ratio. The bonito flakes however looked like it was leftover pieces from the bottom of the bag, there weren't any big flakes.
We had a wonderful time celebrating my son's birthday. The food and service were excellent. I really enjoyed the decor. It was simple but asthetically pleasing. The Brussel sprouts were fantastic! Give them a try!
Pros:
Service was really good, servers came multiple times to see if I needed anything.
Good amount of chicken/ choice of protein
Cons:
Udon was very bland and tasted like water
Chicken in Udon tasted like rotisserie chicken
Onigiri was also just very bland and dry
After I while I couldn’t tolerate how bland everything was so I wasn’t able to finish, the people sitting beside me also left their food unfinished .
